A Heartfelt Event
Beams of Light in Darkness
A Heartfelt Event is a multimedia installation inspired by the major protests that had taken place in Israel, the USA and all over the world in 2020, as well as a personal journey through the Covid-19 pandemic. Using painting, sound and light, A Heartfelt Event sets up two spaces to conceptually simulate the chambers of the heart, seeking to lead visitors into worlds of introspection and spirit.
The recorded cries of the protesters and the beats of their drums on Balfour Street in Jerusalem, across from the Israeli prime minister’s residence, are brought into the very heart of the installation - sounds of dissent and anger but also of hope. Alongside the darkness of despair and corruption, the “green lung” surrounding the chambers of the “heart” enables a place for respite and contemplation; and tenders the possibility for reparation and completion at the end of the process.
