Habitat

Stable Growth

Created at a time of women's empowerment and feminist resistance, and with global warming and ecological concerns in mind, the paintings in this series are conceptual portraits that merge the identity of the figure, usually the artist, via the imprints of personal items of clothing, transforming into a more general human presence. The figure seems to be dissolving into the fading landscape, or maybe floating above it, resting within it and integrally interwoven with its natural surroundings, human and nature as one. Confronting the world and standing in place, the ghostly figure is determined not to disappear and is marking its stance of growth.

All works are diluted acrylic and mixed media on canvas
