On Paper

Extended Medium

While mainly working in painting and installation, Reshef maintains a side-path of working with paper, at times with specific thoughts and plannings, and at other times more experimentally and intuitively.

“Overlooked” revitalizes waste of vegetation Reshef picked up from the streets of Chinatown in Los Angeles; ”Past to Present” uses cutouts from print proofs of her “Control l Release” catalogue and former additional paintings, restaging reproductions of her studio views not only as a creative space, but as a work of art; and “Watermarks”, that are completely abstract and atmospheric, exploring tonalities and the tension between randomness and intention. “Shir LaShalom“ (Song for Peace), a series of red works that seem to be drenched with blood, present a unique and important body of paintings on paper, referring to the assasination of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin in 1995, and the folded piece of paper found in his jacket that remained as a relic to the man and his vision.

All works are diluted acrylic or mixed media on paper unless otherwise stated.
